How To Prepare For A Touring Country Band Summer Concert

Posted on: 31 May 2019

If your favorite country band is on tour and has an upcoming stop in your city, secure your tickets as soon as possible to get the best seats. Whether the band is playing at a large arena or stadium, a local festival, or an intimate venue like a bar, there are a few things you'll need to do to prepare to have a good experience.

To get the most out of your country concert experience, preparation is key. First, you'll need to consider what time of the year the band is coming to your town and whether the performance will be indoors or outdoors. Wearing the right clothing and footwear, as well as having the right items to combat the elements, will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable outing.

In addition to feeling your best, you'll also want to look your best, especially if you plan on taking a lot of pictures of you and your friends. Choose your clothing pieces not only for comfort but for style as well. If you enjoy the country lifestyle, there are many stylish clothing items that will look right at home at the concert.

Here are some tips for going to see a country band like The Swanson's Music on tour.

1. Combat the Elements

If the country concert is taking place outdoors, such as at a fairground, consider what type of weather will be likely and plan accordingly. For instance, for a spring or summertime performance, be sure to pack a hat or sun visor, sunscreen, and an umbrella in your tote bag or backpack. You don't want to be exposed to potentially harsh elements while enjoying the music. If the venue location is prone to flooding and rain is in the forecast, you may want to wear rubber boots as well.

During cooler months, bring a light jacket or sweater along, as well as a knit cap and gloves if necessary. If you have kids, you can also pack a blanket for extra comfort. In the spring and summer, bring plenty of water, and during the fall and winter, pack a thermos of hot chocolate or coffee for a quick warm-up.

2. Dress the Part

Enhance your country band concert experience by dressing the part. You can never go wrong with denim, such as cut-off shorts or jeans, and both will look stylish when paired with cowboy boots. The boots will also protect your feet from any mud or other unsavory items at an outdoor venue.

Complete your look with a cowboy hat and a t-shirt or sweatshirt featuring the band's name as a festive touch.
